Organic. 100% Grignolino. This is Sindi Mandiqi's first vintage; she is the cellarhand of and apprentice to well-regarded Barbaresco vignaiolo Olek Bondonio. The grapes for this bottling are drawn from an organic farmer-partner in Vignale Monferrato. The grapes were harvested in the beginning of September and fermented in cement. The fruit only saw 5 days of maceration as the dry vintage conditions led to less pulp and more skins on the fruit. It rested in steel during the winter and was bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small SO2 addition in April.
Organic. 100% Nebbiolo. This is Sindi Mandiqi's first vintage; she is the cellarhand of and apprentice to well-regarded Barbaresco vignaiolo Olek Bondonio. The grapes for this bottling are drawn from an organic farmer-partner who also provides fruit to Bondonio's Langhe Nebbiolo négociant bottling. In Mandiqi's own words, it's a "beautiful vineyard near the area of Diano d'Alba and Ricca." Because she's not a huge fan of oaked Nebbiolo, this wine was macerated for roughly ten days during ferment in stainless steel tank; it rested there until bottling in summer of '23. Unfined/unfiltered. Solid ripe red fruit with a touch of Nebbiolo tannins and a great sense of liveliness and lift. Medium weight, but lots of freshness.
